N.prior energy GmbH has its headquarters in Leer/East Frisia. We develop innovative, technologically mature and highly efficient systems and plants for the production of regenerative and alternative energies. We bring these technologies to market, contributing significantly to global climate protection.

A new name based on long-term experience

In March 1997, the company founder Dipl.-Ing. Ingo de Buhr separated from his former partners of the PROKON company group in Itzehoe and founded the independent company PROKON Nord Energiesysteme GmbH in Leer/East Frisia. The similarity in name was mutually agreed upon. However, the strategic business fields have developed differently. PROKON Nord has become a successful pioneer in the field of biomass and refuse derived fuel (RDF) plants and of offshore wind technology. In order to clearly distinguish ourselves from other competitors, PROKON Nord Energiesysteme GmbH has been operating under the new name N.prior energy GmbH since October 2010. „N.“ stands for „new/renewable“ and emphasizes our focus on renewable energies. The Latin term „Prior“ (the topmost, the first) in our new name underlines the pioneering role we take as a project company for biomass technologies and wind energy converters. We are thus focusing on the field of power plants and wind energy.
